Care Tips
Copper and Brass wire both tarnish. To slow the
process its best to store the pendants in a
recloseable plastic bag or jewelry case with
anti-tarnish paper. You may clean the copper or
brass with a cleaner specifically made for
copper/brass jewelry or try a solution that you can
make from basic household ingredients. You will
need the following ingredients to make your
solution:
1/2 c powdered detergent
1/2 c flour
1/2 c salt
3/4 c white vinegar
1/4 c lemon juice
1/2 c very warm water
jar with lid (quart size)
Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Then stir
in the liquid ingredients. Mix this solution together
well and then transfer the mixture to a glass jar with
a lid that you can close tightly. When ready to use
the cleaning solution simply shake a small amount
onto a cloth and proceed to rub it into the surface of
the copper and brass pendant. If having trouble
getting to the tight spaces try using an old
toothbrush to help. When done, rinse the pendant
thoroughly with water and carefully rub dry with a
clean cloth. Remember while cleaning to make sure
to carefully handle the pendant so you do not
accidentally bend any of its parts. Please note that
brass can turn black when cleaning due to over-use
and misuse of polish. So, always be careful when
cleaning your pendant.
