Gold-filled wire is a highly durable wire which is made by
forming a tube of gold and filling the tube with a base metal.
The gold content in this wire is 5% or 1/20 of the total wire.
There is 100 times more gold in 14 kt. gold-filled wire than
in gold-plated wire. While gold-filled wire comes in 10kt,
12kt, and 14kt (best quality) we only use 14kt. gold-filled
wire in our pendants. We recommend you keep your pendant
separately from other jewelry in the cotton lined box we
