Pendant Creations
Part of the beauty of stones like Agates and Jasper is their
unique character. Although not always the case, it is not
unusual for the stones we work with to have slight
imperfections as a result of the conditions under which
they have naturally developed. For many who enjoy the
beauty of natural stones, the imperfect appearance of a
vug or quartz area adds a special and distinctive quality
to the pendant. We encourage you to view a magnified
picture of these stones to get a better idea of what they
look like. If you have any concerns about the surface area
of the stone please email us with your questions. We are
happy to provide any additional details about a particular
pendant. In the event a purchase is made and the
pendant does not turn out to be right for you please
remember we have a no hassle return policy. You have 30
days to return any pendant you are not completely
thrilled with.
Natural Stones
Vugs are small to medium-sized cavities inside rock that may be formed
through a variety of processes. Commonly cracks and fissures opened by
tectonic activity are partially filled by quartz, calcite, and other minerals. Open
spaces within ancient collapse breccias are another source of vugs. They
may also result when mineral crystals or fossils inside a rock matrix are later
removed through erosion or dissolution processes, leaving behind irregular
voids. The inner surfaces of these vugs are often coated with some of the
mineral matter that formed them. It is common for fine crystals to be found in
vugs where the open space allows the free development of external crystal
form. The term vug isn't applied to veins/fissures that are completely filled,
although it may be applied to any small cavities within these veins.
